FFXIV: All of the New Level 100 Gear Sets (2024)

The fifth expansion of FFXIV, Dawntrail, offers a new level cap and several new gear sets for players to unlock once they hit this new peak. Find out what the gear set for your favorite class looks like before you venture into the wilds waiting for you in Dawntrail.

FFXIV Level 100 Artifact Armor

With the introduction of Viper and Pictomancer, there are now 21 unique combat classes in FFXIV, each with distinct armor sets. Like with any other gear items in the game, players can use the appearance of these gear sets on any other equipment using the Glamour system.

Viper

• It’s giving “Assassin’s Creed” cosplay vibes. Not that we’re complaining! This is the star of the show-level costume design. And how many Assassin’s Creed protagonists tore up the battlefield with a double-sided blade like a fantasy version of Darth Maul?

Pictomancer

• Life’s a painting, and the world is your canvas. This outfit may not be the most intricate, but sometimes there’s beauty in simplicity.

Paladin

• Paladin gets an upgrade to the Endwalker fit, and what better way to honor the hero of the last expansion than with a shining armor set?

Warrior

• Three words: Big, beautiful, axe. Every tank I know can’t get enough of the Warrior’s weapon design. It’s a thing of beauty and enough to bring a tear to this nerd’s eye. Oh, the outfit is pretty cool, too.

Dark Knight

• The Dark Knight might not hit all the marks as it did with the Shadowbringers set, but it sticks the landing where it counts: with that massive and edgy sword. We’ll definitely be using that single piece for our glamours. It’s a shame the armor and helmet fall so far below the weapon’s flawless example.

Gunbreaker

• The level 100 Gunbreaker gear raised the bar and then some, which is pretty damn impressive, considering the original gear gave Thancred an huge glow up and arguably the coolest-looking Scion design ever.

White Mage

• The White Mage might have the most basic outfits in the bunch, but if it ain’t broke, I guess Square Enix won’t fix it. Outside of a cool staff, there’s not much to praise here.

Scholar

• While the Scholar isn’t the most popular or interesting class to us DPS and Tank mains, it nails its aesthetic. I mean, look at how cute that hat is!

Astrologian

• If Sorcerer Mickey came to Eorzea, this is the gear he’d wear. A fitting set to ring in the rework of Astrologian, as it’s never been a more appealing class for casual players like me.

Sage

• Possibly the least inventive new set in Dawntrail goes to the Sage. It’s like they took the original Sage design and said, “What if we put metal and shoulder pads all over it?” The answer: nothing interesting or impressive in the slightest.

Monk

• While not all Monk sets hit hard, this one feels true to the spirit of the class. A sleek and flashy outfit to accent the herculean hits this class can dish out. At the very least I’ll be rocking the gloves for a future glam set of my own.

Dragoon

• Is it even possible to mess up a Dragoon armor set? I don’t think they’ve failed this class yet. I mean, they even make a Lalafell look incredible. With a rework on the way for this class, it’s nothing but excellent changes for this class.

Ninja

• I know ninjas are supposed to be sneaky and professional, but that doesn’t mean they need to look boring. Thankfully, Square Enix seems to understand that, giving the class a strong set to ring in Dawntrail. It’s as if you meshed a ninja and a knight together for this work of art.

Samurai

• Ah, Samurai, one of my three favorite classes. I may be biased, but they managed to make a set with so many pieces and parts synergized in a way that not only looks badass, but stands apart from the other sets. And that sword? Whoever made this one needs a raise.

Reaper

• Reaper is an interesting case in Dawntrail. On one hand, that is quite possibly my favorite scythe in FFXIV.
• On the other, I’m not too crazy about all the open holes on the armor set, as they don’t work for most male body types in the game. Those cool corset gaps turn into fleshy windows on Hyur, Miquo’te, and Viera. Don’t even get me started on Hrothgar and Roegadyn male figures with this one.

Bard

• The Bard is part archer and part musician, and what better way to highlight that fact than by gluing a guitar to a bow and giving us the best of both worlds? It’s so ridiculous, but that works for the class. The outfit is really sleek, too, and almost cool enough to get me to give this job a shot.

Machinist

• As a job that uses all types of guns, bullets, bombs, and mechs to tear enemies to shreds, few sets encompass the feel of the job as this Dawntrail gear set does.
• It’s like a cyborg cowboy done right, and no, we don’t count Cassidy in Overwatch since that game is a husk of what it once was. The golden rifle is the icing on the cake, too.

Dancer

• What can I say, except congrats on not being the worst set this time, Dancer mains? While the weapons here are awesome, the armor itself is all over the place and feels like something my grandmother would fashion if she ran out of fabric and tried sewing with curtains she’s had since the 80s. The fans are sick though.

Black Mage

• Black Mage mains rise up! We finally got another set on the same level as the one from Stormblood. I’m a Lalafell player, which makes most mage gear look pretty great at the cost of looking terrible on anyone over three feet tall. Finally there’s a set we can all enjoy that’s not in the Online Store, and would you look at that staff? A thing of beauty.

Summoner

• The gear sets for Summoner haven’t been great so far, and while this one is not their finest set, I think Square Enix squeaked out another hit with this one. The colors are all over the place, but the gear looks nice. And the horn helmet is back! Here’s hoping we can dye this one and tweak the color scheme.

Red Mage

• I don’t know what I expected to see from Square for the Red Mage, but whatever idea I had floating around in my head was put to shame by this sassy ensemble. A felt textured suit with a snazzy hat and a lethal sword, crystal combo? We get it, Square Enix; now you’re just showing off.
