Track and Field

CHARLESTON, Ill. - Anna Thomason, Brianna Dixon, and Clara Billing all won their respective events during day two of the 2024 outdoor OVC championship. The Redhawks chalked up three first place finishes,18 top ten performances, and registered 16 new personal bests.

The women's team took the lead during day two with 71total points, ahead of Little Rock in second with 58.50points

The men's team is in secondwith 66.50 total points, down 16 points from Eastern Illinois in first.

Champions
Anna Thomason claimed the crown in the heptathlon. The sophom*ore tallied 4815 total points, placing in the top three in five events.

Freshman Brianna Dixon jumped over a height of 5' 7.25" in the women's long jump to claim the event title.

In the women's pole vault Clara Billing broke the OVC record with a vault of 13' 5.5" to become the champion.

Podium Finishes
Kaitlyn McGinnitey took the bronze and a new personal record in the heptathlon with 4664 total points. She placed in the top five in all seven events.

Paden Lewis chalked up a second place finish and a new personal record in the javelin throw with a mark of 164' 1".

Molly Grohmann cleared a height of 5' 7.25" in the women's high jump to take the silver medal.

Noteworthy Performances
Tayler Gudde scored 4426 points during the heptathlon to take home a new PR. She tallied two first place finishes in the event.

Shea DeGraaf finished the decathlon with 6094 total points, recording five top three finishes throughout the event.

With 5500 points scored Isaac Readnour notched ninth in the decathlon, posting four top five finishes.

In the men's javelin Marshall Swadley, Parker Feuerborn, and Quinton Maxwell all tabbed new PR's with throws of 161' 11" (4th), 156' 8" (6th), and 147' 5" (8th).

With ninth and tenth place finishes Skylar Prescott cleared a height of 10' 10.75" and Charlie Ham reached 10' 10.75" as well.

Trystan Wright ran the 110-meter hurdles in 15.22 for a new personal best.

In the women's discus Piper Klinger and Alivia Busch recorded marks of 146' 1" (6th) and 143' 2" (7th).

Mason Clough jumped for a height of 6' 4.75" for seventh.

Micah Grawer crossed the line at 1:55.64 to attain a new personal record.

Mackenzie Pugh crushed her Steeplechase PR time with a finish of 11:39.98 for seventh.

Myles Thornburg and Jacob Blassingame broke their PR steeplechase times with sixth(9:25.91) and 11th (9:42.93) place finishes.

Headed to the Finals
Southeast has a total of 16athletes that will race in the finals tomorrow in their respective events.

Brianna Dixon (14.11), Anna Thomason (14.34), and Clara Billing (14.35) are all headed to the 100m hurdle finals.

Marcus Gordon recorded his name in the 110-hurdles hurdle finals (14.49) and notched a new PR.

Sydney Burdine (54.86, New PR) and Breanna Miles (55.72) are headed to the 400-meter finals.

Leanza Dwaah put her name in the finals of the 100m with a time of 12.15.

Erika Mellor and Brianna Payton posted times of 2:15.04 (2nd) and 2:18.07 (8th) to secure their spot in the finals for the 800m.

Terrico Garrett won the prelims in the 800m with a time of 1:50.04.

Heptathlon Day Two
Thomason, McGinnity, and Gudde jumped for distances of 17' 10.5" (2nd), 17' 3.75" (4th), and 16' 7.5" (6th) in the long jump.

In the javelin, Gudde claimed the title with a throw of 116' 8'' while McGinnitey and Thomason earned new PR's with distances of 115' 10" (2nd) and 102' 7" (4th).

SEMO's trio sweeps the top three with times of 2:24.28 by Gudde, 2:32.12 by McGinnitey, and 2:34.27 by Thomason.

Decathlon Day Two
During the 110m hurdles DeGraaf ran for the bronze (15.47) and Readnour ran for fifth (15.58).

DeGraaf threw for a new personal best mark of 132' 4" and Readnour achieved a mark of 108' 8".

With marks of 189' 0" and 155' 6" Shea DeGraaf and Isaac Readnour placed second and fifth.

Finishing times of 5:41.26 and 5:41.31 saw Readnour, and DeGraaf place eighth and ninth.

Day Three
The final day of the championship will begin at 11:00 a.m with the women's shot put. The running events are slated for 12:30 p.m with the women's 4x100m relay race. The awards ceremony will start around 4:30.
