BEVERLY J. HUMMEL

Beverly J. “Bev” Hummel, 82, of Marysville died peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 9, 1939, in Marysville to Lester E. and Esther J. Hummel.

She enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved attending music jams, where she danced from the first to last song. Her greatest passion was baking. A simple phone conversation could result in having a baked good ready to pick up. She was known to supply family and friends with cookies, pies and cakes, just because she was thinking of them.

She was the widow of Stanley M. Hummel Sr., who died in 1987 and to whom she was married 61 years.

Surviving are two sons, Stanley M. (Tina) Jr. and Gregory E. (Angela); three grandchildren, Amanda, Jacob (Samantha) and Matthew Hummel; a great-grandson, Carson Hill; and two sisters, Patricia Hummel and Shirley Rector.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Terry L. Hummel, and a sister Arlene R. Ringler.

A celebration of her life was held Dec. 18 in Marysville-Rye Senior Center, 198 Leonard St., Marysville.

Central Pennsylvania Cremation Society, Harrisburg, is handling arrangements.

GARY A. TASKER

Gary Andrew Tasker of Duncannon passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at Hershey Medical Center.

He was born July 12, 1954, the youngest son of the late Emil (John) and the late Evelyn Louise (Laird) Tasker.

He was a Realtor for more than 40 years, specializing in exceptional customer service, and had a very loyal clientele who would seek his advice and services for their real estate needs. He was recognized locally, statewide and nationally for his sales. Additionally, he was a real estate investor and had a great interest in the stock market.

He took great pride and joy watching his daughters participate in activities including dance, tennis, basketball, field hockey and softball. He rarely, if ever, missed a game or activity. He volunteered at their schools for classroom activities and field trips. For 10 years he was at high school gym concession stands during basketball games. He coached girls’ softball in Marysville and was on the board for Marysville softball and baseball organizations. He also enjoyed hunting pheasant and grouse with his dogs and playing lunchtime basketball at the West Shore Y.

He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, sense of humor, love of Brittany spaniels, having five over the span of 50 years, loyalty to friends and family and, most of all, the love he had for his family.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Deborah (Wagner) Tasker; three daughters, Ashley J. Kido (husband Bob) of Mechanicsburg, Andrea M. Tasker (fiance Trent Hellmann) of San Diego, Calif., and Emily L. Tasker of Duncannon; two grandchildren, Hailey and Kyle Kido; and a brother, Randall Tasker (life partner Sharon Curl) of Mechanicsburg.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald L. Tasker.

A celebration of his life was held Dec. 21 at Duke’s Riverside, Wormleysburg.

DILLEN T. LINSENBACH

Dillen T. Linsenbach, 21, of Newport passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at home.

He was born Sept. 26, 2000, to Jessica Napier (Reside) of Millerstown and Nathan Linsenbach of Duncannon.

In his short life, he attended Greenwood and Susquenita high schools, and Cumberland-Perry Vo-Tech. He enjoyed cooking and had dreams of becoming a chef. He enjoyed hunting, adored his cats, but most of all loved fishing.

In addition to his parents, surviving are his stepmother, Samitha Linsenbach; a brother, Caleb Linsenbach; sister, Laci Linsenbach of Duncannon; sister, Leighton Napier of Millerstown; maternal grandparents, Ronald and Debra Hammaker of Newport, Dave and Christine Reside of Lewistown; paternal grandfather, Robert Linsenbach of Newport; maternal uncle, Cory Reside of Millerstown; paternal uncle, Bryan Barrick of Newport; and numerous other loving family members.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Laurel Linsenbach of Newport.

A service was held Dec. 14 in New Harvest Community Church, Millerstown. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.

GRACE E. TONOFF

Grace Eleanor Tonoff, 88, of Duncannon passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, at Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

She was born April 28, 1933, in Selinsgrove to Charles and Elsie (Phillips) Strawser.

She was retired from Angie’s Diner, Swatara Twp.; a member of Babs Curran Senior Center, Duncannon; and enjoyed reading and doing word search puzzles.

She was the widow of George Tonoff.

Surviving are two sons, Charles Michael Tonoff and his wife, Barbara, and Thomas G. Tonoff and his wife, Lynda; a daughter, Ann L. McCorkle; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.

She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Tonoff; four sisters, Mae, Helen, Ruby and Martha; and two brothers, George and Charles.

A service was held Dec. 16 in Ronald C.L. Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon.

JACK U. RUDY

Jack U. Rudy, 93, a lifelong resident of Dauphin Borough, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 10, 2021.

He was born Feb. 15, 1928, in Harrisburg to Esther E. Shaffer and Jonas U. Rudy.

He enlisted in the Merchant Marine at age 17, after graduating as valedictorian of his 11th-grade class at Dauphin High School in the summer of 1945. He was on ships moving critical supplies from New York to California, Oregon and Washington via the Panama Canal. After an honorable discharge, he returned to complete 12th grade at William Penn High School. He enlisted in the Pennsylvania National Guard and received an honorable discharge with the rank of sergeant in 1953.

He was a well-known, self-employed painting and wallpapering contractor who loved the outdoors. Fishing, hunting, camping on remote lakes in Canada, archery, gardening, doubles tennis, mowing, splitting wood, and poling a boat on the Susquehanna River were among his favorite activities. He renovated four, century-old houses on Erie Street. At age 50, he bought a 34-acre Perry County farm to plant fruit trees, Silver Queen corn, berry bushes, chestnut trees and Christmas Trees. Rudy’s Christmas Tree Farm began with he and his family planting hundreds of trees in 1979.

An icon of community service, he achieved 60 perfect attendance years in the local Lions Club. He was president of the board of directors who planned, built and maintained the Dauphin pool and tennis courts. He managed the pool for four decades. He served on the Sewer Authority, guiding the town through complicated upgrades. He was a member of Dauphin Presbyterian Church, singing in the choir and acting as treasurer and deacon. When it merged and became Hope Church, he helped to plan the design, then oversee, build, paint and stain the interior. He also served as a founding member on the board of Dauphin-Middle Paxton Park. He was a fixture at the Lions Club Dauphin Carnival, serving burgers and his “chef’s special,” made with his homegrown tomatoes. If there was a community need, he could always be counted on to volunteer to lead and to help.

He was the widower of Jeanne O. Rudy.

Surviving are a sister, Theodosia Pae; five children, Cynthia Miller, Deborah Rudy, Randy Rudy, Tammi Bortner and Donna Hudson; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Karl an David.

A service was held Dec. 16 in Hope United Presbyterian Church. Burial, with military honors, was in Dauphin Cemetery.

JOHN M. LENTVORSKY

John Michael Lentvorsky, 83, of Shermans Dale went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021.

Surviving are four children, Cindy Bloom, Michael Lentvorsky, Randy Lentvorsky and Wendy Crane; two sisters, Jane Selbach and Eileen Charles; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Virginia Smith Lentvorsky, who passed away May 26, 2020.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, in River of Life Community Church, 717 Pine Grove Road, New Bloomfield.

ELLEN M. JACOBS

Ellen Margaret Jacobs, 102, of Watergap Lane, Dauphin, passed over to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2021, at home.

She was born April 1, 1919, in Bound Brook, N.J., to Grace Rhoda (McKeehan) and William Michael Greaney.

She graduated in 1936 from New Bloomfield High School and Carlisle Commercial College.

She was a member of and volunteered for many organizations in the Central Pennsylvania region — Order of the Eastern Star (Capitol City Chapter), Zembo Usherettes, Dauphin Middle Paxton Lions Club, Dauphin Middle Paxton Historical Society, Dauphin Middle Paxton Area Sunshine Senior Citizens, Kittatiny Rebekah Lodge (past Noble Grand), Dauphin Middle Paxton Red Hats, American Cancer Society, Polyclinic Hospital volunteer, and Dauphin Middle Paxton Garden Club. She was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Harrisburg, and a past deacon of Hope United Presbyterian Church, Dauphin.

She loved making Easter eggs and Christmas candy for her church and visiting friends in the fellowship room after Sunday services. She was devoted to her family and cherished family visits immensely. She loved delivering Meals-on-Wheels and helping people in need. She enjoyed traveling to and living in faraway places like Alaska. She enjoyed playing pinochle with her card club, reading, bible study, gardening (especially roses), taking rides to see the leaves change in the fall and flowers bloom in the spring. A favorite pastime was walking around the “block” chatting with friends and neighbors, and watching birds on the bird feeder.

She was the widow of Cyrus D. Jacobs, who died Jan. 16, 2008, and whom she married Sept. 24, 2938, in Westminster, Md.

Surviving are three sons, Brent and wife Marcia of Maryland, Ted and wife Polly Ann of Missouri, and Gregg and wife Beth of New Bloomfield; six grandchildren, Deborah Wheeler and Pat, Michael Jacobs and Edie, Christopher Jacobs and Megan, Ted Jacobs and Angie, Laura Young and Clay, Tara Lewton and Matt; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth M. Wilt and Merna E. Thebes, and a brother, Harold M. Greaney, all of New Bloomfield.

A service was held Dec. 17 in Hope United Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Allison Smith and Joanne Torma officiating.

FLORENCE EMLET

Florence Emlet, 91, left this Earth to join her Heavenly Father on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021.

She was born Oct. 2, 1930, at home to Van and Jean (Ernest) Milligan of Loysville.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all.

She proudly raised a family and managed the household. She was a faithful member of Tressler Free Lutheran Church, Loysville. She was known for her beautiful flower beds and a great sense of humor. She loved visiting her family, cooking, baking, crocheting, embroidery, reading and putting jigsaw puzzles together.

Surviving are four children, Jerry (Marylou) Emlet of Easley, S.C., Marla (Lee) Shull of Landisburg, Crista (Bill) Lyons of Loysville and Lori (David) Weaver of Landisburg; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Loy of Carlisle; and four sisters-in-law, Miriam Emlet of Loysville, Phyllis Milligan of Carlisle, Edna Milligan of Loysville and Kay Milligan of Northumberland.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 66 years, Ronald Emlet, who died in 2018; a son, David Emlet; and 10 siblings, John Milligan, Janette Albright, Minnie Shull, Marietta Shields, Edna Clark, Esther Smith, Henry “Ernie” Milligan, Robert Milligan, Richard Milligan, and Edwin “Ted” Milligan.

EDWARD D. MILLER

Edward David Miller, 54, of Millerstown entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, at home.

He was born Dec. 11, 1967, in Harrisburg to Charles Edward and Ruth (Sweigart) Miller of Millerstown.

He was a 1986 graduate of Greenwood High School and Cumberland-Perry Vocational Technical School. He had been employed as a carpenter at Shirk’s Construction, Richfield, and the pool. He currently was employed as a carpenter for eci Construction, Dillsburg. He was a member of the NRA and Boy Scouts of America. His hobbies included bowling, collecting guns, knives and coins, hunting, and watching movies.

In addition to his parents, surviving are three sisters, Karen Shaffer and her husband Lenny of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Wendy Heintzelman and her husband Roger of Richfield, and Jamie Keister of Northumberland; four nieces, Lacey Keister of Northumberland, Heidi Heintzelman of Richfield, Megan Dincher and her husband Shaun of Hughesville, and Loretta High and her husband Nelson of Millerstown; a nephew, Wayne Shaffer and his wife Laura of Mt. Pleasant Mills; a great-niece, Abigail High; and a cousin, Mark Sweigart of Liverpool.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Harvey and Mary Sweigart, and paternal grandparents, Daniel and Laura Miller.

JoLee Grace Sweger passed peacefully in the arms of her mother and father on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital, Hershey.

She was born at Harrisburg Hospital on Dec. 6, 2021, at 9:31 a.m., weighing 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

She was the beloved daughter of Dustan and Kayla (Warner) Sweger of Landisburg.

She was greatly loved by paternal grandparents, Derek Sweger, Gail and Chad Wert; great-grandmother, Violet (Sam) Sweger; maternal grandparents, Bridget and Ronald Kitzmiller II; and great-grandparents, Deborah and Marlin Brownewell, Ronald and Kay Kitzmiller and Clyde and Karen Nace.

Other loving family included aunts and uncles, Paxton Kitzmiller, Madyson Wert, Leyna Sweger, Mercedes Sweger, Tristen Warner, Tosha Babner and Brayden Wert; and cousins, Zadie Warner and Elias Sheridan.

She was greeted in heaven by William Sweger, uncle; Edward Sweger, great-grandfather; Melvin and Arley Sweger, great-great-grandparents; Dallas and Glenda Hoover, great-great-grandparents; and David Lee Conrad Jr., great-uncle.

Her parents thank the doctors and nurses, Melissa, Connie, Holly, Dawn, Elissa, Dr. Kaiser, Dr. Glass and all other hospital staff for their love, compassion, support and for giving their daughter the best possible care. They are forever grateful.

RICKY A. BYERLY

Ricky A. Byerly, 66, of Watts Twp. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at home.

He was born June 27, 1955, in Harrisburg.

He was retired from Schneider Electric.

He was a man who truly loved taking care of his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, feeding the wildlife in his backyard, watching football, riding motorcycle, and listening to talk radio.

Surviving are his wife, Rebecca J. (Feltman) Byerly; two daughters, Racheal E. Engle and her husband, Cory, of New Buffalo, and Maggie S. Byerly of New Buffalo; his mother, Louetta (Decker) Geist of Montoursville; and three grandchildren, Dawson Engle, Sierra Engle and Elyse Engle.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Byerly.

Bonnie F. Benner, 79, of Duncannon passed away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at home.

She was born Sept. 16, 2942, in Ickesburg to the late Clarence W. and Kathryn E. (Stewart) Rice.

She retired from Book of the Month Club.

She was the widow of Robert L. Benner, who died Jan. 11, 2018, and to whom she was married 58 years.

Surviving are two daughters, Lorie A. Cornell of Millerstown and Brenda K. Allander and her husband Ronald of Camp Hill; a brother, Fred Rice of Ickesburg; six grandchildren, Hillary Karge, Jenna Fox, Mason Cornell, Taryn Allander, Trevor Allander and Kierstan Allander; and three great-grandchildren, Weston Rittel, Avera Rittel and Oliver Cornell.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Margaret Reisinger, Anna Ruth Peterson, Winifred Flickinger and Mary Bernheisel; and six brothers, Calvin, Donald, Jack, Larry, Dean and Steve Rice.

ROBERT L. SOFRANEK

Robert L. Sofranek, 72, of Newport passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, at UPMC West Shore Hospital.

He was born Sept. 17, 1949, to the late Joseph and Margaret Whitekettle Sofranek.

He was a member of the Eagles of Carlisle and Newport VFW. He loved driving to different Walmarts in Pennsylvania and New York. His greatest joy was enjoying time at Knoebel’s Park with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Carrie Gardner Sofranek; a son, Robert Jr. and wife Shannon of Newport; two daughters, Tina Strohecker and husband David of Newport and Rosanna Mentzer of Newport; a brother, Ronald Sofranek of Newport; a sister, Nina Morgan of Newport; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Lynn A. Allander, 73, of Duncannon passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at Carolyn’s House, Harrisburg.

He was born Oct. 6, 1948, in Duncannon to the late Arthur C. and Effie (Meyers) Allander.

He was retired from the Mack Trucks parts department; a member of Duncannon Sportsman’s Club; and an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and working outdoors.

Surviving are his wife, Mary H. (Witmer) Allander; a daughter, Jenny L. Morefield and her husband, Andy, of Leander, Texas; a sister, Rosezelma Oesterling and her husband, Howard, of Marysville; a brother, John E. Barninger and his wife, Lucille, of Duncannon; two grandsons, Logan D. Morefield and Evan C. Morefield; and his dog, Jakey.

He was preceded in death by seven sisters and seven brothers.

JEAN DUM

Jean Dum, 86, of Elliottsburg passed from this Earth and joined her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021.

She was born Dec. 24, 1934, at home on Christmas Eve to C. Melvin and Jeanne (Kipp) Beasom of Millerstown.

She was an excellent wife, mother and grandmother, passionately loving her family.

She began her adult career as a secretary for Nationwide Insurance and was a cook in the cafeteria for West Perry School District. After marriage, she began her most challenging career as the wife of a farmer and mom. She efficiently ran the household and raised a family. She was the babysitter, when needed. She baked cookies and pies. Her pet peeve was a dirty kitchen floor, and she would complain, “It’s soooo sticky!” Her contagious giggle will be deeply missed. She was not a fussy lady, but she was particular about her lipstick and hair. She was a faithful member of New Hope United Church of Christ, Landisburg.

Surviving are her devoted husband of 64 years, Donald L. Dum; three daughters, Sue (Rick) Pinti of Harrisburg, Julie (Todd) Shelley of Landisburg and Patti (Dave) McLaughlin of Elliottsburg; six grandchildren, Adam (Anna) Pinti of Hummelstown, Melissa Nagy (William Warren) of Virginia Beach, Va., Angela Pinti of Harrisburg, Cole McLaughlin of Elliottsburg, Brett Shelley of Frederick, Md., and Mark (Ashlie) Shelley of Greenville, S.C.; and six great-grandchildren, Natalie, Jacob, Skylar, Tyler, Emma Jean, and Kaysen.

She was preceded in death by four siblings, Helen Vogel and Richard, Leonard and Wayne “Nutsy” Beasom.

TODD D. SCHELL

Todd D. Schell, 61, of Wheatfield Twp. passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, at Penn State Hampden Medical Center.

He perfected his skill as an auto body technician throughout his life. He started at Macco on the Carlisle Pike and ended his career as an auto body technician for Freysinger Buick GMC. He worked previously at Sutliff Chevrolet, Hoffman Ford and McCafferty Kia.

He had a deep love for anything cars. He was particularly interested in drag racing, and his knowledge of cars enabled him to build and race his own drag car. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association.

He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, and his family was very important to him. He became a grandfather six years ago and he loved his only granddaughter, Leigha, with all his heart. They enjoyed hanging out, eating snacks and just being their goofy selves.

His friends and close associates also were a very important part of his life. He would assist anyone he could with anything he could. His humble and sarcastic spirit is how he will be most remembered, but deep down he had a heart of gold.

Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Jodi L. (Bowman) Schell; a son, Dalton L. Schell, who carries on his passion for cars and drag racing; a daughter, Taylor N. Schell; a granddaughter, Leigha M. Gipe; a brother, Rob Schell and his wife, Valerie; two sisters, Lisa Forbes and her husband, Randy, and Rebecca Barrick and her husband, James; two stepbrothers, Ken Huss Jr., and Roger Huss and his wife, Pam; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred (Minnich) Huss, and his stepfather, Kenneth Huss.

ROBERT WILLIAMS

Robert Williams, 73, of Shermans Dale left this Earth to join his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021.

He was born Dec. 20, 1947, to the late David Jr. and Lorene (Bailey) Williams of Harvey, Ill.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He was a professional residential and commercial painter, retiring in 2009 from Keeley Construction. In his earlier adult career, he worked for Bethlehem Steel and Williams and Company Painting. He was a member of New Life Assembly of God, Landisburg, where he served as a board member and a leader in Men’s Ministry. He was a member of Perry County Archers, Carlisle Fish and Game Association, and Enola Senior Citizen Pool League.

His daughters bestowed the “Best Dad Ever” award upon him, and he won numerous awards from the Senior Citizens for his athleticism and pool shots. In his personal time, he loved spoiling and raising his grandchildren. Family summer vacations were the best at the beach. He was passionate about God, fishing, hunting, boating and shooting pool. He loved playing card games and taking long walks with his wife.

Surviving are his loving wife of 42 years, Cindy (Garman) Williams; two daughters, Ashley (Zachary) Williams of Enola and Chelsey (Brittan) Sheriff of Shermans Dale; four grandchildren, Makayla, Hayley, Milla and Kepri; and seven siblings, Bruce Williams of Texas, Denna Culver of Alabama, Carolyn Stoner of Newport, Sandra Walter of Enola, Janet Smith of Duncannon, Theresa Tharp of Harrisburg and Wanda Barbaretta of Palmyra.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Summer; and six siblings, Daniel Williams, Linda Lawler, Phyliss Para, Joyce Patty, Harold Williams and Bill Williams.

A service was held Dec. 20 in his church with pastor Ronald Briggs officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

BETTY DICKINSON

Betty Dickinson, 84, of Ickesburg died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021.

She was born Sept. 21, 1937, to John and Eva (Schoonover) Confer of Wellsboro.

She retired in the early 2000s from Broad Acres Nursing Home as a personal aide. She was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Ansonia. She loved quilting, reading, crocheting, completing jigsaw puzzles, and doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Michele (David) Sheaffer of Ickesburg and Linda (Barry) Wisotzkey of Kodak, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Allison (Lance) Newlin of Ickesburg and Samantha (Brandon) Girard of Millerstown; three great-grandchildren, Hadlee, Jaxtyn and baby girl due in March; and a sister, Margaret Blackwell.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Franklin English, and her second husband, Leonard Dickinson, and five siblings.

HAN PUN RICHEY

Han Pun “Suzie” Richey, 86, of Shermans Dale went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, in Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

She was born Oct.11, 1936, in Sojong ni, Korea.

She was a proud American citizen and was known by her friends as a hardworking and dedicated daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her family came first. She and her husband thought of each other as “the love of their lives.” He said, “She was the best thing that ever happened to me.” She had been a switchboard operator for the Air Force after the Korean War when she met her future husband. They married in 1960.

Surviving are her husband, William Richey Jr.; a son, James Lee “Jim” Richey and wife Janet of Mechanicsburg; three grandchildren, Emma, Anna and Daniel; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Korean family and a son, Edward W. Richey.

A service was held Dec. 13 in Boyer Family Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, with the Rev. Larry Hale officiate. Burial was in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Shermans Dale.

HOWARD W. WORNER

Howard W. “Tim” Worner, 78, of Market Street, Duncannon, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, in Harrisburg Hospital.

He was born March 24, 1943, in Harrisburg to the late Howard W. and Marion (Holland) Worner.

Tim, as he was known by his friends, was a patriot and served his country in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Navy Depot and was a well known race car driver. He was a member of NHRA and IHRA drag racers, a 1961 graduate of Penn Hills High School, Pittsburgh and a member of Duncannon American Legion Post 340 and Duncannon VFW Post 255. He also was a member of Duncannon Sportsmen’s Association, life member of the NRA and Newport Owls Club. He was a coach for Susquenita Midget Football, Duncannon Teeners and Duncannon and Enola Twilight league. He was on the pool team at the Pub for many years and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. He really enjoyed dogs, especially “Porter.”

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Suzy (Seabold) Worner; two sons, Byron and wife Heather and Bryan and companion Nikki Alberts; a daughter, Jennifer; a granddaughter, Madeline Daum; and a sister, Marianna Worner of Arizona.

A service was held Dec. 18 in Tree of Life Lutheran Church, Harrisburg, with pastor Richard Geib officiating.

Boyer Family Funeral Home, Duncannon, handled arrangements.
